I live in northwest Ohio near the banks of the State Scenic Maumee
River along with my parents and two pesky younger brothers.
Bald Eagles have established nesting locations throughout the length of
the Maumee River Valley and can occasionally be spotted soaring over
the my home. The rural landscape has developed my love of animals,
nature, and the outdoors. I love to read and am especially partial to
the classic novels of the 19th century. I also enjoy music and playing my
clarinet. I wrote the children’s book, Ernie the Eagle and the Mysterious Grrrr!, as a
bedtime story for my baby brother when I was only twelve. I hope you enjoy it - Allison

ABOUT ME:
Hi! My name is Allison Carrothers. You might be wondering how I got the idea for
Ernie the Eagle and the Mysterious “Grrr!”. Well, it actually started out as a seventh
grade journal entry. My teacher put up pictures around the classroom and asked us
to write a story with one of the scenes in it. I chose one that showed an eagle
grabbing a fish out of a river. And so Ernie the Eagle was born.

I enjoy reading bet time stories to my kid brothers. They are very active with great imaginations
So writing this children’s story book was fun. I am hoping that you will be able to read this
Kids book to your siblings or children. As years go by, I think the childrens books that I write
Will be something your family will look back and share fond memories. Kids books, especially
Ones that are short stories, and bed time stories, are my favorite to write. I love reading novels
